OCTOBER 6, 2010 – New York, NY – Project by Project NY, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, held its 12th annual Plate by Plate Annual Tasting Benefit on Friday, October 1 at the Metropolitan Pavilion. Attended by over 300 socially aware Asian American young professionals and foodies alike, the Tasting was Project by Project’s main fundraising event for its 2010 Partner, the Hamilton-Madison House.

Highlights of the evening included a Quickfire Challenge between Top Chef winner Hung Huynh and Executive Chef Chris Jaeckle of Ai Fiori and a silent auction featuring over 90 items, including a couture clutch designed for the event by Tommy Hilfiger + Zeelush worth $3000. The Tasting was hosted by Vivian Lee of NY1 and Richard Lui of MSNBC. Other notable celebrity attendees included Sandra Endo of CNN, Archie Kao of “CSI”, Michelle Krusiec of “Saving Face”, Hot 97’s Miss Info, and Leanne Marshall, winner of “Project Runway”, among others.

More than just a premier Tasting event, Plate by Plate stands out from the pack with its philanthropic mission to raise awareness and funds for a chosen Partner organization committed to the Asian American community. The 2010 Partner is the Hamilton-Madison House, a non-profit settlement house located in Chinatown NYC dedicated to providing physical and behavioral health services to the Asian populations of New York.

“Hamilton-Madison House was thrilled to be chosen as the 2010 New York Partner by Project by Project and the beneficiary of the funds raised by their Plate by Plate tasting,” said Hamilton-Madison House’s Illyse Kaplan, Director of Development. “The event’s wonderful turnout and the great time had by all the guests is a testament to the commitment by Project by Project’s members and their desire to help Asian New
Yorkers receive the health services they require."

“PbP NY is honored to partner with an organization that so well embodies our 2010 theme of Health Care,” said Chi Nguyen, Project by Project’s Director of Events. “Plate by Plate was a way for us to not only host a unique tasting event, but also raise awareness for Hamilton-Madison House, an indispensable resource for New York’s Asian community.”
