On April 16, 2005, Project by Project hosted its first poker tournament at Club Deep. Seventy people participated in this shotgun format tournament with the top ten individuals advancing to the championship table.

Players and spectators alike enjoyed a day of competitive poker, as many people stuck around to the end. The final match-up came between James Wu and Ron Belmarch. After four hours of consecutive play, James Wu edged out Ron Belmarch to become the 2005 Project by Project Poker Champion! James Wu continued his high level of play to capture third place at Click2Asia’s poker tournament held at Taj Mahal in Atlantic City on Saturday, April 23rd.

Each of the top ten players took home spectacular prizes. The winners’ prizes include a free poker lesson with Mike Scelza & Johnny Marinacci from Spike TV’s Casino Cinema show, waived buy-in for Click2Asia’s Poker Tournament, tickets to Project by Project’s Seventh Annual Food and Wine Tasting Benefit to be held on October 21, 2005 at the Puck Building, two nights & dinner for two at Foxwoods, VIP Yankee tickets, and a $150 gift certificate to Capital Grille. Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all our players, spectators, and sponsors that participated and supported our kickoff sports event of 2005!
