The "We Are New York" Community Project is designed to help adult New Yorkers learn and practice English in community-based conversation groups. Sponsored by the City University of New York and the Mayor's Office of Adult Education, the project uses "We Are New York," (WANY) a nine-part TV series to structure conversation groups in local communities. Each episode addresses issues that most concern immigrants such as health care, education, managing finances, and accessing New York City services.
