Thai Town East Hollywood, the best place for authentic Thai curry dishes and desserts outside of Thailand, will be
pedestrianized on Sunday, April 5, 2009 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. More than 100,000people from all over the world are expected to visit East Hollywood to celebrate THE ONE AND ONLY CURRY FESTIVAL IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA! Not only will the Thai curry be the super star that day, all kinds of curry related products, regardless of their national
origins, shape, color, spice level, texture… etc will be worshiped.

This event, held on Hollywood Boulevard between Western Avenue and Vermont Avenue, will be a very unique experience for people to explore curry. In this event people can try different kind of curry dishes, desserts, and snacks that are made with curry. In addition to that, the participants can learn how to make easy and flavorsome curry dishes and desserts at home. People could also find unique and special curry ingredients from around the world that they have never seen and tasted before. This year, president Obama’s favorite Kenyan curry as well as Jamaican curry will add some mysterious flavors of Africa and the Caribbean on top of the already popular Thai,
Japanese, and Indian curries.

Besides those fun curry experiences, the LA Curry Festival will be held together with the Thai Town 5K Run/Walk and the 6th Annual Thai New Year’s Day Songkran Festival, which is the largest Thai community celebration in the United States. The Thai New Year’s Day Songkran Festival will create an authentic Thai ambiance through Thai dance performances, Thai costume competition, Thai boxing, grand Pad-Thai demonstration, and booths that sells Thai handicrafts and tasty Thai food, while the Curry Festival will bring international curry flavors to all Angelinos.
